Facial aesthetics complementing quality oral healthcare at your local Bristol dentist
Most of us would probably claim to clean our teeth at least twice a day and consider that we look after our teeth fairly well on the whole. The majority of us visit a local Bristol dentist on a regular basis to keep on top of any problems that may, if left untreated, escalate into more significant problems such as gum disease.
This is certainly to be commended although there may still be room for some improvement. At Beau Monde Dental Care in Bristol, we advise our patients to try using a timer when they brush their teeth, ensuring that they brush for the full two minutes. Many patients express surprise at how long this feels when it is actually being timed.
Another top tip for your dental care is to make sure that you floss your teeth to remove the debris that becomes trapped between your teeth and which can lead to decay or gum disease. We appreciate that some people do find this difficult but, generally, practice makes perfect and after doing this for a while, most people find it becomes second nature. There are also interdental sticks now available which some people prefer to use.
White and Bright
As we have mentioned before in our blogs, however well we look after our teeth, there is an inevitability that they will become discoloured as we get older due to the inner molecules of our teeth becoming darker. No amount of tooth whitening toothpastes will change this, to any significant level anyway and we advise our Bristol patients who wish to have whiter teeth, to consider our tooth whitening treatments to get the whiteness back.
Not only the smile
Of course, it is great having whiter teeth as we enter our middle age and beyond, but with this period of our life usually come a number of facial features that we are not so keen of. Numerous wrinkles, crow’s feet and thinning lips start to reflect back at us in the mirror each day to remind us of the passing time. Whilst getting older is a fact of life which we can’t avoid, it doesn’t mean that we have to succumb to the more obvious indicators and there are now a number of treatments that can help to hide these effects of ageing.
At Beau Monde Dental Care, we offer two of the most popular treatments for wrinkles and other features of ageing; namely Botox and Dermal Fillers. Although Botox has received some bad press in certain quarters, these cases are actually very rare indeed and, in the vast majority of cases, done by unqualified people. We can assure all patients at our Bristol dental practice that our staff who perform these procedures are fully trained and we are very happy to discuss any concerns that you may have before we commence any treatment.
We will be covering both dermal fillers and Botox procedures in future blogs but for more information, if you have been considering these procedures, why not take a look at our facial aesthetics page on our website.
We hope that the information on the page will answer some of the questions that you may have. If you have any other questions though, please don’t hesitate to call our Bristol practice on 0117 330 3495 and we will do our best to answer them.
